What stays on your device

Searches, filter choices and resource questions are processed in your browser. Chat text stays in page memory, is not sent to an AI service, and is cleared on reload. City, state or ZIP choices and other filters may appear in URL fragments and browser history, and travel with internal website links. We do not infer your location. Postal data is downloaded from this site only when needed; your location is not sent to GeoNames or another geocoding service. You can change or clear it using the location controls on any page. No location choice is saved to a profile or persistent storage. The site does not use tracking cookies, advertising, third-party fonts or embedded media.

Review notes are downloaded only when you choose. FTC does not receive them automatically. Keep downloaded notes safe, and only share them deliberately.

Optional local pilot measurement

You can enable session-only counts of searches, pathway views, outbound provider clicks, resources marked useful, downloaded correction notes and voluntary connection reports. Counts contain no question text or resource names and are not transmitted. They are for a facilitated pilot, not sitewide analytics. You may download a copy for your facilitator or clear them. Browser session storage can survive a tab restore; use “Clear local counts” on a shared device.

External websites and hosting

Opening a provider link takes you to an independent website with its own privacy practices. FTC sends no search text in the referrer. This website uses Vercel for hosting. Vercel processes technical request data, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and operate its services. This hosting data is separate from the optional local counts described above. FTC does not send your resource questions or local counts to Vercel, and has not added a visitor analytics service. Hosting data retention depends on the provider’s policies and applicable account settings; this website does not promise a specific deletion period. Read Vercel’s privacy notice for information about its own processing.

Accessible by design

We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA: readable contrast, visible keyboard focus, labeled controls, responsive layouts and clear status messages. The full resource pages remain readable without JavaScript. This is a design target, not a certification; testing with assistive technology and volunteer users remains part of the pilot.

FTC provides resource information, not professional legal, medical, financial or case-management advice. Providers decide eligibility, fees and availability. Call 911 for an immediate emergency; use 211 for community resource navigation.
